“Forget Me Nots” is a song co-written and performed by American R&B musician Patrice Rushen. The song appears on Rushen’s seventh album Straight from the Heart (1982). The single’s success culminated in Rushen’s scoring her first nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 1983 Grammy Awards. Along with being prominently featured in the Tom Hanks hit film Big, the song has been sampled frequently. These include George Michael in “Fastlove” (1996) and the 1997 hit “Men in Black” by ed by Will Smith from the film of the same name.
