Dallas TV Show
Review Type
TV Show
Classic TV Show for the Times!

I’m writing this review from the standpoint of how I felt about watching Dallas when it aired, while I was mostly in my twenties.

Dallas was one of my favorite TV shows, and I always looked forward to turning in every week to see what low-down J.R. Ewing was going to do to Cliff Barnes and everyone else that he was scheming against.  There were always twists and turns, and you never knew what was going to happen next.

Now that I am an older adult, I don’t know if I would view it the same way.

I’m including a clip below of a classic exchange between J.R. and Cliff Barnes.

If I’m not mistaken, I think Cliff  Barnes did end up striking oil in the little bit of time that he had left referred to in the clip – another example of a surprising turn of events.

What made me stop watching the show was the “dream season”.  I never liked how they brought Bobby Ewing back to the show after dying, and I didn’t feel the same way about the show after that.  It felt like it was a waste of time watching and being invested in that season, if everything that happened was a dream.
